New
US church leader says homosexuality no sin
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Newly elected leader of the
U.S. Episcopal Church Bishop
Katharine Jefferts Schori said on Monday she
believed homosexuality was no sin and homosexuals
were created by God to love people of the same gender.
Jefferts Schori, bishop of the Diocese of
Nevada, was elected on Sunday as the first woman leader
of the 2.3 million-member Episcopal Church,
the U.S. branch of the worldwide Anglican Communion. She will formally take
office later this year.
Interviewed on CNN, Jefferts Schori was asked if it was a sin to be homosexual.
"I don't believe so.
I believe that God creates us with different gifts. Each one of us comes into
this world with a different
collection of things that challenge us and things that give us joy and allow us
to bless the world around us,"
she said. "Some people come into this
world with affections ordered toward other people of the same
gender and some people come into this world with affections directed at people
of the other gender."
Jefferts Schori's election seemed certain to exacerbate splits within a Episcopal
Church that is already
deeply divided over homosexuality with several dioceses and parishes threatening
to break away.

Psychological Association Journal of Professional Psychology:
Research and Practice, Dr. Warren Throckmorton has written an article titled,
"Initial Empirical and
Clinical Findings Concerning the Change Process for Ex-Gays." The
research presented has
caused a stir amongst the psychology world. The article finds that sexual
orientation can be
changed. "[The research] suggests that sexual orientation, once thought to
be an unchanging
sexual trait, is actually quite flexible for many people, changing as a result
of therapy for some,
ministry for others and spontaneously for still others," Dr. Throckmorton
said. Furthermore, the
report went on to say that the change from
homosexuality to heterosexuality is very helpful and
positive to the majority of those who experience the change...."

Schools, 'Hate' Label -- Tools of Homosexual Activists?
The leader of a group dedicated to
preserving family values says America needs to
take notice -- homosexual activists are using the public school system to
further their agenda.
The National Education Association has given its blessing to the homosexual
movement,
according to Linda Harvey, who heads the group Mission America. She says as with
the
most recent case
in Santa Fe, New Mexico, public schools are increasingly feeling the
pressure to promote the homosexual lifestyle. With the backing of the NEA and
most other
professional education organizations, Harvey says homosexual indoctrination
programs are
invading America's classrooms, starting in kindergarten....
Label It 'Hate'
According to Harvey, the homosexual
movement has one goal: to silence any opposition
to their lifestyle. That is done, Harvey says, by labeling any opposition
to their lifestyle as "hate."
"Once they have defined something as 'hate,' they feel perfectly justified
in discriminating against
conservatism of traditional values," she says. "That's what's really
insidious about this [movement]
is that they have put all of the objections to
homosexuality in a category called 'hate.' "Once
an issue can be placed in the "hate" category,
Harvey says, "it's no longer considered legitimate
debate" -- and legitimate debate, she says, is something homosexual
activists do not want
because there is no evidence to prove homosexuality is inborn or that it is a
beneficial, or at
least a neutral, behavior. Harvey says the lifestyle is not beneficial. In fact,
she says, it is
medically proven to be harmful, and it is changeable. LifeLine

Patrol officers have arrested 25 men in the past
three months at
John U. Lloyd State Recreation Area in Hollywood. Their crime:
having sex in the woods and restrooms. A Web site listing the park as
a place to go for gay sex may be one reason behind the increase in
activity, park officials say. "It's an ongoing problem," said park
Manager
Sid Leve. "We're trying to be proactive by having rangers and law
enforcement officers patrol the area." The Web site describes the
restroom
as "very cruisy" and suggests the nature trails "for a more
private scene."
